Steel Fire Pit 76 cm with Swing-Arm Cooking Grill

The swing-arm fire pit is built for cooking over a real wood fire. A wide 76 cm steel bowl sits in a sturdy ring stand with four legs, and an upright steel post on one side carries a round grill on an arm. Swing the grill over the flames to cook, swing it aside to add logs or to enjoy an open fire, and slide it up or down the post to choose how close the food sits to the heat. When the cooking is done, it is simply a generous fire pit for the evening.

Care

Let the fire burn out and the steel cool completely before you touch, move or cover it. Empty the ash once it is cold and do not leave rainwater standing in the bowl. When it is not in use, keep it under a breathable cover or in a shed. Like all heated steel, the high-temperature paint can mark over time; brush off any surface rust and touch it up with heat-resistant stove paint.

Safety

Use outdoors only, on a level, non-combustible surface such as paving, slate or gravel - never on timber decking or grass - at least 3 m from buildings, fences, trees and overhanging branches. Burn only dry, seasoned firewood or kiln-dried logs - never petrol, lighter fluid or rubbish - and check local smoke control and bonfire rules before use. Never leave a fire unattended, keep children and pets at a safe distance, and keep water or a fire extinguisher nearby. The metal gets very hot: wear heat-resistant gloves and use a fire poker to move logs. Swing the grill away from the fire and lift food only with heat-resistant gloves and long tongs.
