Hexagonal Steel Fire Pit 70 cm with Leaf Cut-Outs and Spark Guard

This hexagonal fire pit turns the fire into a lantern: each of its six steel side panels is laser-cut with a leaf pattern, so the flames glow through the sides as well as over the top. The fire bowl sits inside the hexagonal body, which stands on six short feet to keep the heat off the ground, and a matching domed mesh spark guard with a lifting knob closes the top while the fire burns down. A long poker with a hook is included to lift the guard and move the logs.

Care

Let the fire burn out and the steel cool completely before you touch, move or cover it. Empty the ash once it is cold and do not leave rainwater standing in the bowl. When it is not in use, keep it under a breathable cover or in a shed. Like all heated steel, the high-temperature paint can mark over time; brush off any surface rust and touch it up with heat-resistant stove paint.

Safety

Use outdoors only, on a level, non-combustible surface such as paving, slate or gravel - never on timber decking or grass - at least 3 m from buildings, fences, trees and overhanging branches. Burn only dry, seasoned firewood or kiln-dried logs - never petrol, lighter fluid or rubbish - and check local smoke control and bonfire rules before use. Never leave a fire unattended, keep children and pets at a safe distance, and keep water or a fire extinguisher nearby. The metal gets very hot: wear heat-resistant gloves and use a fire poker to move logs.
